See You in 2013

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas this year, I know I did.
And I can't wait to tell you all about it.
And show you all the things I got.
You won't be disappointed, trust me.

However, I've decided not to do that until after the new year.
There's a few reasons for it.
One, I'm just really busy with work, life, etc.
Two, sometimes it's good to take a break. I mean, I'm old now. I turned 30. LOL.
Three, I just want to spend some time with friends and family around the holidays.

I will say this though, I have tons to share and can't wait to do so.
So let's start off 2013 right.
2012 was really good to me, I'm sad to see it go.
I hope 2013 has some good things in store.
I have this theory that I only have "good" years during the even ones.
Is that weird?
Am I the only one who thinks that?
So I'm kinda worried about 2013, I don't really know what to expect.
I've got a lot riding on this year and I need it to come through.

Cheers to the blog world and everyone else who visits my little corner of the internet.
Don't miss me too much, I'll be back before you know it.
Have a great rest of 2012 and be safe on New Years!

Chow!

Dirty 30

Well we made it.
The world didn't end.
The Mayans got the last laugh after all.
I'm sure they were just tired of predicting the future, who wouldn't?

I'm glad the world didn't end, I am really excited to see where my 30s will take me.
Hopefully it will guide me well through getting married, buying a house and starting a family.

But to kick off my day of birth, I'll be doing this...

Well hopefully we will, I've come down with a slight cold (so my luck).
The agenda is to go to a nice dinner with my family and then come home for dessert. My step mom is an amazing baker and makes us all cakes for our birthday. Don't worry, there will be pictures to follow!

Thank you ahead for all the lovely birthday wishes.
I'm so thankful for all of you from the blog world that I have come to know so well over the years.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and enjoy the final countdown to Christmas!

Holiday Proofing Your Home

Today, I wanted to share with you all of my favorite holiday decorating ideas via the best source to find such things, Pinterest. My busiest board right now is my All Things Holidays board. I'm constantly finding new decorating ideas and DIY projects to help me get my house ready for the season.

To start, I don't like traditional wreaths. These two really caught my eye, but ornament wreaths are absolutely my fave!

As far as decorating in the home, I like things bold but simple.

I was never a fan of white trees, but this one was done so tastefully. It's really stunning.

Lights don't have to be your only source of decorating outside. Oversized ornaments are great for trees that are way too big to put lights on.

A star is always a great, traditional topper. However, having your family initial stand at the top is really great especially for newlyweds and/or new homeowners.

I just loved this ornament idea!

As you can tell, I'm a sucker for decorating with ornaments. Hanging a bunch at the bottom of a chandelier is classic and elegant.

I wish I had the time to make these DIY decorations.

No holiday is complete without his and her shot glasses.

And finally, two of my favorite table decorations.

What are some of your favorite holiday decorations?

Me, Myself and I Link Up Party

I'm linking up again with:

It's the last link up of 2012!!

What was your favorite gift given to you as a child?

Well I can't just give you one. For all of you girls younger than me, you won't get this. For all the ladies my age and up, I hope you get a massive kick out of the next few items. No offense to the young crowd.

Starting with the oldest object first. Exhibit A, Jem's Rockin' Roadster!

This had an FM radio in the trunk people!! That was amazing for the time.

Moving on. When I was a little older, I needed something to keep me occupied longer.
Exhibit B, the original Gameboy.

My favorite games were Tetris, Kirby's Dream Land and Batman.

And finally, in my teens I needed my own phone in my room. That was key.
Exhibit C, the Clueless Hands Free Phone with voice changer and sounds from the movie!

If I could find this I would totally use it again! I LOVED this phone! It was perfect for prank calling. Do you have any idea how long it took me to find a picture of it on Google? OMG. I miss the good old days.

Christmas is almost here, what is that one Christmas song you could listen to on repeat?

One word, Wham!
Wham's version of Last Christmas has been my favorite for years!
I will always have a crush on 80s George Michael. I know he's gay, but I love him. If he went on tour next year, I'd totally buy tickets. I have his greatest hits album. No joke.

What are a few of the items on your Christmas list this year?

Well for my full list, check this out.

The highlights of my list consist of:

Blue Blazer

Sony NEX-F3

Black Riding Boots

One Tree Hill Season 9

Do you and your family have any special holiday traditions? Explain.

Ever since my grandfather died, celebrating the holidays has definitely changed. At first, it was really hard, but eventually you get used to it and you accept it. Before, Christmas day involved so much traveling from house to house. Now, it's gotten a lot simpler.

Christmas Eve is always just my immediate family and Tim. My dad and step mom cook up a storm. We have lobster tails and london broil with angel hair pasta, garlic green beans and homemade cream of mushroom soup. It's my favorite meal of the year.

Christmas day at my house is us opening our presents in our pajamas while we eat Christmas cookies and a hash brown casserole (it's amazing). I like to start my morning with a massive cup of coffee and a big splash of Bailey's. I have a 14 year old sister. It's gotten a lot better as she gets older, but when she was younger she used to get me up at the crack of dawn because Santa came. I'm usually 3 sheets to the wind by the end of present opening. Anyway, after we're all finished (and I've sobered up), I get cleaned up and head over Tim's house to celebrate with them. I then work my way back to my house where the rest of my family has arrived. We eat dinner and open more presents. Later after Tim's family has finished up, he comes over to join us as well.

It's always hectic even though we're not traveling as much, but it's so nice to be able to spend Christmas with both of my families (Tim's and mine). And when we're married, things will probably change again, but I'm ready for it.

Which do you prefer: wrapping paper or gift bags? Why?

I LOVE opening gifts with wrapping paper. When I was little I used to try to open every one's gifts. I never wanted what was in them, I just loved ripping the paper.

However, when it comes to wrapping for people, I totally opt for the easy way out. If it's not shaped like a box, it's going in a bag.

There's a New Vodka in Town

The holidays are once again upon us and much like everyone else I'm spending a lot of time shopping, baking, decorating and attending many holiday parties (on top of my regular schedule as well).

When it comes to buying gifts for co-workers, neighbors, the mailman, etc., not to mention the insane amount of parties that need to be attended, there's only a certain type of gift reserved for those times. My list usually consists of gift baskets, something from Bath & Body Works and of course alcohol.

There are a gazillion choices of alcohol today, not to mention all the many new flavors that come with each kind as well. Now I'm a vodka drinker, but I have to admit I get sick of certain flavors. They just get "old". So I've been on the hunt for something new and different that people will definitely thank me for.

Luckily, I was contacted by the new vodka in town, ODDKA Vodka.

What is ODDKA Vodka you ask?

ODDKA is the new kid on the block, recently launched by Pernod Ricod, a premium wine and spirits company. It is currently available in Alabama, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, and will be expanding its national and global distribution in spring of 2013. Luckily, I live in Pennsylvania and had the pleasure of seeing this new vodka proudly displayed at my local liquor store.

Let me tell you what stuck out about this brand: plain and simple, it's the five unconventional flavors. Let me repeat, unconventional flavors. Everyone has cherry, grape, whipped, chocolate, you name it. I'm looking for something different, something that's going to stand out. That's why this is definitely the brand for me.

What are these unconventional flavors?

Apple Pie: For when you desperate yearn for the sweet taste of apples and cinnamon and can’t get one of grandma’s apple pies. Mixes best with Fanta, Coke or Ginger Ale.
Electricity: A bolt of lightning in a bottle—but safer; tickling taste buds and sparking curiosity everywhere.
Fresh Cut Grass: Nothing beats this home-mown taste; it’s crisp, citrusy, sweet and refreshing. Mixes best with Dr. Pepper, Ginger Beer or Soda Water.
Salty Caramel Popcorn: If ODDKA were a movie, this flavor would be a caramel comedy with a sea salt subplot and a warm, feel-good ending. Mixes best with Fanta, Ginger Ale, Coke or Iced Tea.
Wasabi: This tribute to the spicy burn of the sharp Asian condiment will satisfy your craving for something fiery. Mixes best with Ginger Ale and is perfect for a Bloody Mary.

How awesome do those sound? Well I had the pleasure of purchasing the apple pie flavor this weekend to take with me to a holiday party. It was an immediate hit, everyone was asking me what this deliciousness was. I told them it was my new vodka of choice, ODDKA. I mixed it with Ginger Ale or Sprite, and it was like I was literally drinking an apple pie. Amazing.

And what would a new vodka brand be without a spokesman? The voice and inspiration of the ODDKA brand is Wit Oddoski, a virtual character in the real world. Wit was born as a 2-D line drawing, a rare condition that leads him to view the world a bit differently than others.

So when you're considering what to bring to that holiday party or what your co-worker might like for Christmas, you should definitely turn to ODDKA. My next purchase will be the Salty Caramel Popcorn.

To learn more about ODDKA and Wit’s adventures, “Like” ODDKA Vodka on Facebook or follow Wit on Twitter at @WitOddoski.
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Oddka.

This Year's Wish List

Well folks it's that time of year.
Time for us to celebrate the holidays by putting together a list of items you hope your family and friends will buy you.
Now I don't know about you, but I will leave out a few bigger items and just drop hints about them.
It's seemed to work and it keeps me guessing. Am I going to get it or not?
I know, I'm a little odd.

Anyway, I thought I'd share with you my list.
Considering the main thing I wanted for Christmas, I already got (aka my engagement ring), everything else is just a bonus!

Jewelry Armoire from Target

Until we buy our home, I can't get the armoire I really want which is much bigger. However, my current jewelry box is over flowing and I need a temporary solution. Too much jewelry!

Custom iPhone case

Ever since my Kate Spade case broke earlier this year, I have not been able to find a case I love. Everything looks the same so I turned to Etsy to help me find a new customized case.

Love Bracelet from Taro Collection
I have been dying to get something from this shop on Etsy, not like I need anymore jewelry though!

Urban Decay Ocho Loco
There's so much from Urban Decay that I want, but this pencil set is at the very top!

Ladyhawk Riding Boots by Steve Madden
I just want a pair of black riding boots this year. I've had my brown ones and I LOVE them. I feel like I wear them almost every day. I'm definitely in need of another boot to split the time.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer
One of many books I asked for this year. It's been on my list to read for a while now and I never got around to it. A couple weeks ago, I saw the trailer for the movie coming out next year. I just fast tracked this book to the top of my list.
Hamilton Tote by Michael Kors
This isn't on my list, but I'm hoping a couple people get the hint.

Sony NEX-F3
This will probably be purchased by myself, but with gift cards I received at Christmas. I literally just decided a week ago that I wanted this model. I was torn between this one and the Nikon. Sorry Ashton Kutcher, you lost. Taylor Swift, you won. Anyway, I've decided it's more important to take better pictures on my blog. My iPhone isn't cutting it anymore. Time to invest in a better option. Tim and I were playing with this neat little thing at Target this past weekend. Holy crap is it cool. There are probably things on this camera that I will never figure out, but I still want it!

One Tree Hill Season 9
Of course, in order to complete my collection, One Tree Hill's final season. I still miss you OTH!

What's on your Christmas list this year?
