Influenster Summer Beauty VoxBox

Are you familiar with Influenster?

Members love testing the latest products, giving insightful feedback, and spreading the word on their favorite finds!

I've been an Influenster for a few months now and I have to say I really enjoy being a part of it. I get a heads up on new products coming out and get to try them. How cool is that? The best part? Sharing the products with you!

I was privileged to be offered a Summer Beauty VoxBox that was choc full of goodies!

 Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion
Sally Hansen Nails and Cuticles Hand Creme
Tampax and Always Radiant Collection
Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color
Quaker Soft Baked Bar in Banana Nut Bread

What I thought...

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion
Love this stuff! The smell is wonderful and it doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy at all. I'll probably need something with a little more punch in the winter, but this is my new summer lotion. However, I wouldn't use this as a sunscreen. It has SPF 30, but it didn't really protect me when I wore it the other day.

Sally Hansen Nails and Cuticles Hand Creme
I think I finally found a hand creme I can stick with! And it keeps my cuticles under control! Score! I have about 5 different hand cremes that I've gotten from gift baskets, Christmas stockings, free gift with purchases, etc. As soon as one is done I just grab a new one. Well I now have my go to hand creme. Woohoo!

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color
I was not pleased with this. Do you wanna know how many coats it took to get that to look that nice? 4! I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. I noticed other people got lighter colors, I got the dark gray (Graphite Gravity). In order for the 3D look to work I had to keep adding coats. I was definitely not impressed.

Quaker Soft Baked Bar in Banana Nut Bread
I like breakfast bars, but I never buy them because I think they're overpriced. I'd just rather wake up a few minutes earlier and have a bowl of cereal. Anyway, this was pretty good. I'm just not a big breakfast bar person.
If you think I'm going to review the tampons for you, you got another thing coming! Eww.

Are you an Influenster? How did you like your VoxBox?

Sunday Social

Sunday Social

I'm linking up with Neely and Ashley for this week's installment of Sunday Social!

What is your dream job?

Definitely a social media coordinator/blogger. I would love to get paid to blog whether it's for a company or if someone just fell in love with my blog and decided to pay me to do it! That would be amazeballs.

If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?

Wow, I would do so much. Travel like crazy for one. I would go to every single place I've ever wanted to go. Europe, South America, Pacific islands would be where I'd spend most of my time. I would probably always travel though, but once I got the majority of it out of my system I swore I would always volunteer at an animal shelter or organization. I love animals and would love to be able to donate money and time to places that support animal rescue. And of course I'd blog about my new life as a bazillionaire.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was little, I wanted to be in movies. Yep that's right. I was all about acting and singing and dancing. I never got super serious about it as a kid because I wanted to have a life and realized the chances of making it big were very slim.

What piece career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?

Always learn about new trends. Stay up to date in what's going on. Even if you're in a job that's not exactly where you want to be, make sure you're constantly doing things that make you a better candidate for that dream job. I put my blog on my resume and it has really helped me get my foot in the door even if it's just an interview. Also volunteer and do internships in your field. If you have the time, put it in now. It will really spice up your resume and will pay off later. Most importantly, everything you do online leaves a foot print. If you say something inappropriate it CAN come back to haunt you.

Biggest Pet Peeves either in life or in blogging or at work.

Inconsiderate people, people who think they're entitled, bad drivers, people who park like complete idiots, ignorance, I could go on for days here...

Biggest Fears

Bugs, something bad happening to people I care about, carny rides

One Year Later...It's Still Ok Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

I'm linking up with Amber and Neely for a very special one year anniversary edition of It's Ok Thursday. This is one of my favorite link ups and I'm so happy to celebrate it's success one year later. Cheers, ladies.

It's OK:

To be very excited about the amount of new followers to the blog, welcome!

To be ready to take this blog to the next step, it's very scary, nerve racking and exciting all at the same time

To see the Dark Knight Rises two nights in a row

To have cried at the end of the first time I saw DKR (that is not giving anything away, promise)

To be completely overwhelmed at the amount of new shows I wanna watch this fall, I already watch too many shows!

To be very anxious about some things coming up that could be really good for me, sorry, can't tell you about it yet

To be slightly disappointed with Influenster's Summer Vox Box, review coming next week

To miss my mommy, I hope I get to visit her next month

To want to buy everything from all the Etsy shops in my favorites

To catch myself looking longingly at my fall/winter boots

To still be sending thoughts and prayers to Aurora

To be very excited to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of this link up!

What's OK with you?

Happy Birthday, Utley!

Just a quick post to celebrate my puppy's 2nd birthday.
I can't believe she's two already.

My baby girl.

For those of you who don't know, Utley got her name from my favorite Philadelphia Phillie, Chase Utley. I wasn't sure it was going to work at first, but it did. And yes sometimes people think I named her ugly, but it's ok. Her nick names consist of mutt, muttley, doodle and monkey, and I'm not sure why.

Tim and I decided that we would rescue for our second dog and I believe that's what we'll do from now on. We picked her up in North Carolina and fell in love with her immediately. After 8 or 9 other applications and either not being quick enough or being rejected because we didn't have a fence, we finally got accepted to be her parents. It was obvious we were meant to have her, our Utley. Happy birthday sweetheart!

Weekend Recap

This weekend Tim and I finally got to celebrate our anniversary.
We decided to go out to dinner in the city since we hadn't done it in a while.
We chose restaurant Nineteen XIX located at the Hyatt in center city.
Granted the menu looked amazing, but what made us choose this place was the view.

Everything was great, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere. Of course the weather wasn't as warm as it had been and I was completely under dressed for the breeze on the 10th floor, but oh well.

Here are some pictures from the night:

These were the views from our table

And this is what we ate:

If you're ever in Philly, I definitely recommend eating at Nineteen XIX.

And who would I be if I didn't include my OOTN and NOTN, I know you were all looking forward to it.

Chiffon Bodycon Dress from Body Central
Michael Kors Parker Glitz Watch
Two Toned Shiny Bracelet from Lollysheep
Earrings from Forever21 (old)
Given 2 Heels from Jessica Simpson (talked about in Friday's post)

Zoya Elodie & Layla

Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet & White Veil

What did you do this weekend?

Sunday Social

Sunday Social

Linking up with my girls Neely and Ashley for another Sunday Social.

Favorite handbag you've ever owned

Michael Kors Signature Tote
I love this bag and wish I could use it more often. I mostly use it for travel and in the fall/winter. It's big enough to fit all my crap when I'm on a plane, bus or train (including my iPad and many other things). I haven't really used it this summer because it's so hot! I tend to use more clutches in the summer time.

Dream handbag you lust over

That's simple.

Louis Vuitton Speedy 35

Obviously, I can't decide which color to choose.

Daily essentials in your purse or work bag

Purse Essentials

What's in your purse?

I have EVERYTHING listed above plus:

Wallet
Sunglass case

I Am the Deal Master

I have been lusting over these Jessica Simpson Given 2 - Multi Terrace Floral heels for months!

Aren't they cute?

They have either been sold out or at full price (which was originally $120). You can still find them online at a few stores for about $70-$90.

Well yesterday, my girlfriend and I walked into Macy's just to drool "look" at the shoes (like I always do). I happened to check out the clearance rack and there they were for the low, low price of $39.50! Are you kidding me? No. The first one I grabbed was a 7.5. My foot is anywhere from an 8-9 depending on the shoe. All of my JS heels are 8.5. All I could find was 7.5 and smaller.

So what's a girl to do?

I tried them on anyway or you may like to call it "shoved my foot in them until they fit". Seriously though, they did fit. An 8 would have been perfect. The 7.5 might give me a blister or two, but I always say "fashion can be painful".

So I bought them with my Macy's gift card. I payed zilch. Sometimes, patience really is a virtue, but so is determination. Nothing was stopping me from getting those shoes!

Happy Friday all!

See you Sunday (hopefully, if I can get my act together) for Sunday Social with Neely and Ashley.

Epic Pool Floats

This weekend my sister and I were floating in our pool and thinking there was something missing from our little piece of heaven in the backyard. Well, thank you again Pinterest for giving me ideas about how to make my pool more dangerous.

I legit want every single float. It's amazing how much pool floats can change over the years. Who wouldn't love an aqua rocket, cabana or sphere for their pool? Could you imagine blowing up the rock climbing wall? LOL. I think I would want the trampoline most, but I feel that would be the most dangerous. Do you have any crazy floats for the pool, lake or beach?

Make sure you follow me on Pinterest!
