Wedding Wednesday Link Up

A Happy Wife in New Orleans

Today I'm linking up for the first time with Mary from A Happy Wife in New Orleans for Wedding Wednesday!

Now that I'm newly engaged, I have a lot of wedding planning to do. I'm so happy I found this link up to help me out with the whole process. I've been currently addicted to wedding magazines and Pinterest (forgive me if you follow me, they've been mostly wedding related).

So my first post is going to be from my always growing Pinterest board "Getting Hitched". I realized that what I've pinned the most was pictures I want taken at my wedding. They range from serious to hysterical and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Just a classic, beautiful photo.

I think this one is great with all the bridesmaids and all their shoes!

The middle picture is my fave and considering Tim is a big comic book fan, this might actually have to happen.

Groom, bride and best man picture is a must for us. The three of us are very close.

Recreating the Bridesmaids DVD cover? Yes please!

This just totally made me giggle.

Another great picture that I hope I can replicate.

I am 100% interested in getting a grooms book done. Have any of you guys done this?

This was my favorite bridesmaid shot because this will be my friends.

So there you have it, my mandatory wedding pictures.
What were some of yours or what are some of your ideas for your upcoming wedding?
I'd love to hear about them!

Me, Myself and I Link Up Party

I'm linking up again with:

I am so excited for this month's questions! Ready?

What are your top 5 favorite movies to watch during the Holidays?

Top 5?? How about top 10? LOL. There are so many that I absolutely love. I'm just going to name them all.

Home Alone
Love Actually
The Grinch (with Jim Carrey)
A Christmas Story
Miracle on 34th Street (the newer one)
It's A Wonderful Life
The Nutcracker
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
The Santa Clause

Those are watched constantly during the holiday season.

It’s the month of giving thanks, what are you most thankful for?

I'm definitely thankful for having friends and family that are happy and healthy. I'm also extremely thankful for a wonderful fiance, who makes my dreams come true every day.

If there was a quote or verse to describe your life, what would it be?

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”
-Mother Theresa

I try to think of this quote every day.

Who in your family are you most alike?

Wow, I'm not really sure. I think I'm a good mix of both my parents. I'm very type A like my dad, but I can be kinda ditzy like my mom. Every once in a while I'll do things and someone will say, "That's so Poppop or Uncle Karl" so I guess I have attributes from everyone in my family.

What is your favorite drink order at Starbucks?

I'm more of a Dunkin' Donuts girl so I only buy Starbucks during the holiday season. I'll either get a Caramel Brulee Latte, Salted Caramel Mocha or a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate.

My Favorite Two Store Collabo

I gotta tell you, I had so many other titles for this post.
Every one I came up with was inappropriate.
Like "Two Store Tag Team".
*Shaking my head*
Anyway, if you haven't heard of the Neiman Marcus/Target partnership for the holidays then you are officially on another planet.
I can't wait until the items are available.
Unfortunately, I want things for myself, not for others.
And this time of year = not buying things for myself.
But I can still look.

Here are my top pics from this legendary line:

Altuzarra for Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection – Old Fashioned Glasses ($49.99), Shaker ($49.99) and Tray ($79.99)

Marc Jacobs for Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection – Pouch, $69.99 each

rag & bone for Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection – Shot Glasses, $19.99 (set of 4)

Robert Rodriguez for Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection – Dress, $99.99

I know, I know only 4 things??!!
Honestly, I think this is an amazing collaboration.
Some of the products are affordable and stylish, but I have to admit I was kind of disappointed in some designers.
Dear Tory, Marchesa, Carolina, and Diane:

A thermos, notepads, a yoga mat and children's wear. Really? Heaven forbid you provide clothing or some sort of purse. It kinda irritated me. Like, you don't make enough money on your high end products to make something of worth for us little people? I would have paid $150 for a clutch from DvF or a nice skirt from Carolina Herrera. It's still cheaper than their regular prices. Anyone feel like this? Don't get me wrong, most designers went above and beyond! I'm so impressed with what Robert Rodriguez provided. So cute. In the end, the ladies let me down.

Still, these items will be on my Christmas list as long as they don't sell out in one day.
For the entire Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection Look Book click here.

Which items from this collection have you added to your Christmas list?

I'm talking about my sweet friend Frances. She has a very cute blog called It's Sew My Style, but she also has an Etsy shop with handmade purses, totes and jewelry. And her prices? AMAZING!!

You should really scope it out because I may or may not be giving away something from her shop next week.
Just sayin'.

Have any recommendations for an Etsy spotlight? Do you have an Etsy shop and want to be featured?
Shoot me an email, let's talk.

Saw it. Pinned it. Did it: Oven Tacos

I know I've really been bombarding you guys with Pinterest re-creations lately, but I just can't help it!
I'm on a roll.
So I when I saw this super cute linkup from 2 of my favorite bloggers, I just had to join up!

You know there are things you pin and are like, "ok, I'll make that someday" and then there are pins that you're like, "I need to make that like tomorrow"! Well that's how I felt about this pin.

Oven Tacos

In case you don't know, I have a serious weakness for Mexican food. And I absolutely love to make it. It's become my specialty.

2 lbs ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
1 small onion diced
1 small can diced green chilies
1 recipe for homemade taco seasoning (below)
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (16 ounce) can fat free refried beans
2 cups shredded reduced fat Colby-jack cheese
18-20 hard taco shells

Optional Condiments:
Lettuce (shredded)
Tomato (diced)
Sour Cream
Olives, sliced

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

In a large skillet brown ground beef and onion over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess liquid. Return to pan, add chilies, refried beans, tomato sauce, and taco seasoning. Mix well and cook for a few minutes if mixture seems runny.

Spoon the taco meat mixture into the taco shells and place into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish, standing up. Sprinkle cheese over the top of the taco meat in each shell. Place into the oven and bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the tacos are heated through.
Remove from the oven and top with any optional condiments for serving.

Taco Seasoning
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
*or, you can just buy a taco seasoning packet

Here's how they turned out for me!

Before bake

After bake
They were delish! I'd prob tweak just a few things about them, but I feel this will be a staple meal in our house from now on!

I know most of you love Pinterest, so make sure you link up with Katie @ Keep Calm  & Carry On and Stephanie @ Beautiful Mess!

And if you don't already, you totes need to be following me on Pinterest.

What have you pinned and recreated recently?

Things I'm Not Ashamed to Admit

Last week the fabulous Erin from Living in Yellow had an amazing post.
She asked her readers to leave comments anonymously for the day. The catch was to get them to post things they would only post anonymously, such as embarrassing stories or admitting to cleaning the toilet with someone's toothbrush. Ya know, the juicy stuff.
Well almost a week later, she has 817 comments and counting.
And I definitely left at least 2 comments filled with my secrets!

Now I'm not here to copy her post or the original idea from Steph at Beautiful Mess. Mostly because there were HILARIOUS comments posted, there were also some very scary and depressing comments as well. I'm not really ready to bring that over here.

However, I'm going to take their idea and run with it.
Behold, things I'm not ashamed to admit.
I'm going to tell you some things about me that can be pretty embarrassing, but I'm willing to share.

1.) I totally pee in the shower, and I've never had athlete's foot because of it. At least that's what I tell myself.

2.) I love to peel. Whenever I get a sunburn, I can't wait until I my skin starts peeling. I try to do it to Tim, but he always get annoyed and says I'm pulling his arm hair.

3.) I have totally Facebook stalked a number of people in my life, exes, ex-best friends, etc.

4.) I fart, it happens, it's a fact of life. There's nothing wrong with you if you do.

5.) I get annoyed by most people's kids (not my friend's kids though), mostly stranger's kids.

6.) I don't floss my teeth unless there's something stuck in it. It's like nails on a chalk board to me. I just can't do it.

7.) I love fast food, but I try to keep my cravings at bay. However when I break down, I've been known to eat almost $13 worth of food. As far as fast food prices go, that's a lot of food.

8.) My right boob is bigger than my left boob.

9.) I laugh when I see people fall or trip in public.

10.) Even though it's natural, I have a really hard time pooping in public. Sometimes I'll hold it until I get home.

11.) I try not to, but I totally judge girls before getting to know them.

12.) Sometimes I really wonder how certain blogs are so popular because they post about stupid crap.

13.) I curse entirely too much.

14.) I've always wanted to take "sexy" pictures of myself and send them to Tim and then I look at them and think, "OMG I look terrible" or "what if someone else sees it"?

15.) I burp like a guy and I burp louder than most guys I know. Because of that my step dad is convinced I have some gastrointestinal problem.

16.) I get so much satisfaction from pulling out in-grown hairs.

17.) I HATE body hair, but sometimes I just get too lazy to shave.

Alright, 17 seemed like a good number to stop at! So there you have it, 17 kind of embarrassing things that I'm not ashamed to tell you. That's because after reading all those (now 818) comments, I realized we're all a little f'd up. And if you can't admit that, then you have a problem.

So what do I ask of you, my non-judgmental followers?
Leave me a comment anonymously, as yourself, as someone else, whatever, and tell me something you're not ashamed to admit.
If you're really brave, do a full post on it. Just make sure you tell me about it. I'd love to read it.

The Evolution of Twilight Premieres

Yep it's official.
I'm super lame awesome.
I researched photos from every Twilight premiere.
But I was sure you would enjoy it.
Considering we are days away from the Breaking Dawn Part 2 opening weekend.
(Eeeek) It's almost here.
And for those of you who don't like Twilight?
This is the last one, you're so close to never having to deal with it again.

For those of you who enjoy it as much as I do, I collected some pictures from last night's premiere in LA.

Dakota Fanning

Elizabeth Reaser

Maggie Grace

Nikki Reed

Ashley Greene

Kellan Lutz

Taylor Lautner

Jackson Rathbone

Peter Facinelli

Kristen Stewart

Robert Pattinson

Mackenzie Foy

The trio with Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer
Just a few notes:
I LOVED K-Stew's dress (a Zuhair Murad gown).
Stephenie Meyer FINALLY looked good at a premiere.
Disappointed in all dresses from Elizabeth Reaser, Maggie Grace, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene and Nikki Reed.
Loved how all the men stood out differently in their unique suits, especially Rob's green one.

So how does this premiere compare to the past 4 movies?

Breaking Dawn Part 1 LA Premiere

Eclipse LA Premiere

New Moon LA Premiere

Twilight LA Premiere
Would you believe there are no pictures of Kristen and Rob at the New Moon premiere? Super weird.
Anyway, boy how they've changed.
For a comprehensive picture gallery of the best red carpet moments from Kristen and Rob, check out the slide show from the Huffington Post.

So, make sure you purchase the Breaking Dawn Part 2 Soundtrack available today to help you gear up for opening weekend.

What are some of your favorite Twilight red carpet moments?
What are you doing for Breaking Dawn Part 2 opening weekend?
