New Lady Gaga for House of Mugler

*If for some reason this video doesn't play (it's giving me issues), click here to go the original article and video.

Just a quick post before the weekend begins! Has anyone seen this video? The man in charge of putting Gaga in all those crazy outfits is now the creative director for the brand Mugler. Gaga made the soundtrack for his upcoming fashion show, this song is a remixed song from her upcoming album, "Born This Way". I personally love it. It's totally something you would hear at a fashion show and I'm sure the original that is on her new album will be a favorite as well. I have to try and find this song to put on my iPod. I'm totally ready for new Gaga music, are you?

Sorry guys, I have a huge list of posts that I want to write, but I just haven't found the time. Tim and I are in PA this weekend to celebrate our nephew's 1st birthday, I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures. I'll try to have a post on Monday, but it will depend on how late we get back on Sunday. If not, definitely look for one of Tuesday. I've been so good at posting every weekday I'm going to try and not break it. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend, talk to you next week!

I really, really want one of these!

Tim and I were at Target this weekend looking around and seeing what we could spend our gift card's on. Well I definitely found what I wanted! Tim was showing me yet another Keurig machine because he thinks we'd benefit more from one than the coffee maker we have now...blah, blah, blah. Now I know a bunch of you own one and you all rave about it (my family loves them too), but here's my thinking...I love my Dunkin Donuts coffee so much that until they make little pod's I'm sticking with my filtered brewing machine! Yes, I know Keurig makes one of those filter's so I can put ground coffee in it as well. I'm just being stubborn. Basically, if Tim wants it, he can buy it. That is all besides the point really, back to the subject at hand. I fell in love with this item the minute I saw it...
That my friends is a Mr. Coffee Cafe Frappe Maker and it can make things that look like this...

This machine is going to be my go to appliance this summer! Do any of you guys have this machine or know anyone who does? I need some reviews before I purchase, but I'll keep you guys posted!

P.S. Make sure you check out my fellow blogger's giveaways (see the list in the right sidebar).

Another Ulta Post, Another Makeup Wishlist

A couple weeks ago I posted about some makeup reviews and I included a wishlist that I had for Sephora and Ulta. Well I got the new Ulta magazine today and I had to post immediately about it! I immediately wanted everything I saw. I'll probably blow all my gift cards and more when I go. Some of these brands I've never used so let me know how you feel about them. If I liked the look of them I added them to the list.
LORAC 3D Multidimensional Beauty Collection - I just really liked the picture in the magazine of how these colors looked together. Can't hurt to try, Ulta has a great return policy!

OPI Katy Perry Collection - I hadn't heard about this or seen it anywhere, this looks so awesome!

Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Powder - I've been wanting to try this forever, I think I'm going to break down and get it.

Ulta Shower Smoothie in Pink Champagne - I'm not one to like shower gels that smell like foods or drinks, but this caught my eye. Has anyone tried one of these or maybe one from Philosophy? (They're currently buy 2, get 2 free which also caught my eye).

Poppy by Coach - I hated all the Coach scents when I smelled them, but then I smelled this one and fell in love.

Moroccan Oil Hair Spray - I saw this woman at my tailor the other day who had beautiful curls so I asked her how she got them to look the way they do and she recommended this product. She said it's the best thing ever. Has anyone used this or tried any other products from them? Let me know.

Planning on going to Ulta this week or ordering online? Make sure you go to and get the 20% off in store or online until January 29th!

My puppy is not such a puppy anymore...

Utley will be 6 months this week and I realized I was slacking on taking pictures of her recently and that I haven't even posted about her since we got her.

For those of you who are new to the blog, Tim and I have a 6 year old lab named Dakota and this September we rescued another dog. Her name is Utley and we're not sure what breed she is. They originally told us she was a St. Bernard/Collie mix, but I really don't think she has any St. Bernard in her. I think she's definitely part Collie, but with what we're not sure. Her brother and sisters look anything from a Golden Retriever to Great Pyrenees to Australian Shepherd. We really wanted a BIG dog (bigger than Dakota), but I doubt she'll get bigger than him at this point. She's 45 pounds currently and almost as tall as Koda. She's still got a lot of growing to do, but if she was part St. Bernard she'd be much bigger than she is now. She's got a great temperament and gets along well with Dakota. She definitely has her moments, but has been a wonderful addition to our family. Here are some pictures we took recently.

Paula Deen's Gooey Butter Cake

Last week I read about this fantastic recipe from Sarah at Sweet Carolina Girl. It totally caught my eye and I knew I HAD to make it. I love adding new things to my cooking repertoire! This was an amazing recipe! Paula Deen can do no wrong! I just love her.

I recommend this to everyone. It's not healthy at all, but that's why we make these things! It was super easy and it's now on my list of fave desserts to make.

18 1/4 oz. pkg. yellow cake mix
1 egg
8 tbs. butter, melted
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
8 tbs. butter, melted
16 oz. box powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cake mix, egg and butter. Pat mixture into the bottom of a lightly greased 13x9 pan. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs, vanilla and butter; beat together. Add powdered sugar and mix well. Spread over cake batter and back for 40-50 minutes. Do not over bake, topping is supposed to be gooey.
*I ended up baking it for only 30 minutes, I have a gas oven.

This is what it looks like pre-bake. When you press cake into dish, you have to make it like a crust; don't press it down completely flat.

This is after it was baked, yumm!

The final product!

I got my free Zoya nail polish!

A couple weeks ago, I posted about Zoya's nail polish giveaway for getting 20,000 Facebook followers. Well it took longer than expected, but I can't complain because they were free. I received the polish this weekend and immediately tried all three colors on for you to see. I ordered Yasmeen (purple), Layla (pink) and Ibiza (blue). This is how they looked on my nails.

I tried to find the best light so you could really see the colors.

My intention was to get a great hot pink for summer, a really dark (almost black) purple and a sparkly navy blue. Well unfortunately when you order things like nail polish online, you don't always get what you wanted. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the colors. It's just funny what my original intentions were. So here's my initial review of the colors (I will give a better review as a whole once I wear them for a significant amount of time).

Yasmeen - I originally wanted a dark purple, what I got was a glittery, dark purple. I still like it, but I was so concerned during the ordering process not to get another red shade that I didn't notice I had a purple in my collection close to it. I didn't realize this until this weekend.

These are my purples, the one all the way to the right is very similar to my new Zoya color

These are my reds, which is the reason I was so insistent on not choosing yet another one

Layla - I couldn't be more happy with. In person it's holy cow pink! It is the definition of hot pink. I love wearing bright pink colors in summer when I'm tan and I ran out of the one I had so I needed a replacement. I'm very excited about this one!

Ibiza - I was looking for a dark, but sparkly navy blue. A girlfriend of mine had worn a color just like it and I wanted one for my own. It's funny because what blue and the purple actually turned out exactly opposite of what I originally wanted. The purple turned out a little lighter with sparkles and the blue turned out to be much darker than it looked online.

It was a great idea to include a booklet with all their colors, so now I'll really know what colors look like before I order.

I'm trying to heal my poor hands before I paint them again. For some reason this winter, my hands have been dryer than normal. My cuticles and the skin around my nails have been splitting so nail polish isn't working for me right now. I'll probably end up putting the color on my toes first. I'll let you guys know how they last and look in a week or so.

How many of you ordered Zoya colors? Have you tried them? What do you think of them?

Spartacus is back tonight!

For those of you that are new to my blog, I have a few TV obsessions. One of which is Spartacus that premiered on Starz last year. I knew so many people who got into it. It's really gory, got a lot of nudity and tons of violence. If anyone watched HBO's Rome, I would equate it to that because of the shows portrayal of the time period. It's what my dad would call his type of show. Anyway, the show is back starting tonight for just a teaser 6 episode prequel titled Spartacus: God of the Arena. Andy Whitfield who plays the role of Spartacus was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma after the first season aired. They held off production, he went into remission and started training for the second season. In the meantime, Starz decided to make a prequel to tide fans over and also give some background info to things that had already happened. Then Andy officially backed out of the show because his cancer had returned. Well they have finally replaced him. I'm super sad about it, I was hoping he'd beat cancer and return to an awesome show. However, things never work out as planned. So the network hired Australian actor Liam McIntyre to take his spot.

Andy Whitfield is on the left and the new guy is on the right. Not a bad choice. I think they look alike, but I'll have to see this guy act. Anyway, I'm excited to see the new prequel even if it is only 6 episodes. Then I'll have to wait another freaking year for the second season. I did get season 1 on DVD for Christmas to hold me over!

Does anyone else watch this show? Ladies let me tell you this show kills two birds with one stone. You get to watch hot, half naked men run around and at the same time it pleases your beau because there are also hot, half naked women running around as well. Not to mention it satisfies their need to see blood, guts and violence all at the same time. I highly recommend this show!

The great thing about the prequel is that you don't need to see season 1 to watch, you can just jump right in. Once you watch I know you'll be hooked. Let me know if you want to borrow my season 1 on DVD!

Weekend Recap

Yeah yeah, I know it's Thursday, but I wasn't thinking when I was blogging earlier in the week. :)
This was a 3 day weekend for me. I really needed the extra day, there was so much to do around my house. So most of the weekend was dedicated to cleaning and straightening up the house, but we also shopped (hence all my clothes posts this week).

On Saturday we went to our last Christmas party of the season. Early last month a bunch of us decided to get together after the holidays when things calmed down a little more. I didn't take a whole bunch of pictures, I was mostly concentrating on the food because it was amazing! I'm sick of making the same stuff all the time (even though everyone always asks for them) so lately I've been trying some new things; sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. For the party I made crab dip (a recipe that I got from my friend Lauren) and it was awesome. It was so awesome I couldn't wait to eat it and forgot to take a picture of it before everyone starting digging in. This is what I have, sorry!

Here's the recipe:

8 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. mayo
8 oz. sour cream
16 oz. can of crab meat
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Mix all ingredients together; bake at 425 degrees until bubbly. Top with additional shredded cheese before placing in oven if desired.

So some of the other foods we had were...

Our hostess with the mostest, Manmeet, made our entree which was a bacon explosion. Yep, I said bacon explosion. This is what it looked like:

Along with the bacon explosion we had homemade scalloped potatoes (made by Mel), biscuits, spinach salad with bacon, goat cheese, apples and clementines in a vinaigrette, and pasta salad (made by Jez). Let me know if I forgot something guys!

For dessert, we had a wonderful homemade Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake (made by Wendy):

It was soooo good, we ate it with homemade peanut butter cup ice cream!

We also tried "The Largest Gummi Bear in the World"! This is what it looked like before we ate half of it!

Did you guys have a fun long weekend?

My Golden Globe Red Carpet Faves, What the's and Hotties

I didn't watch the Golden Globes this year because Tim vetoed it and I didn't feel like being exiled to the bedroom. However, I was keeping up with the winners on Twitter and I was going through red carpet galleries on my laptop. There were so many that I LOVED, few that I hated (which really shocked me), and speaking of actress that chose HORRIBLY and let me down (I'll get to that). So scroll through and tell me what you guys think of my fave pics! There are a lot!

We'll start with my FAVES
Nicole Kidman hardly ever lets me down, she looks so classic all the time

Navy on Amy Adams was a perfect choice, she is stunning

One of my favorites of the night

I had to show the back of this dress, makes me love it even more

I don't know who Dianna Agron is, but I love the dress and think she looks beautiful

So impressed with this choice from Claire and so happy she won a GG

One of the most exotic and beautiful women of Hollywood, I love this color on Catherine

Love Carrie! She is always stunning

Love the style and love that Eva kept it simple

I love the top of this dress, but the bottom color almost washes out Megan

I wouldn't have chosen the color, but the more I look at it the more I like it on Mandy

Love, love, love Leighton in this dress

Kaley Cuoco looks fab in this dress

And my favorite dress of the night goes to...

As soon as I saw this on Olivia I knew that I would have chosen it for myself, I don't know what it is but I am in LOVE with it!

What the?
This was for people who I normally love, but let me down not people that just looked horrid (J. Lo, Christina Aguilera, etc) on the red carpet last night.
Usually for awards shows Scar Jo always looks great, but this was very blah to me...I was not impressed

I love Emma Stone (and she's one of Tim's faves), but I feel like her blond hair + the color of this dress totally washes her out, not to mention it's very plain

And my what the? of the night goes to...

One of my favorite actresses who usually dresses amazing and has great style...who the hell did her hair tonight? They need to be fired along with her stylist. Sandra, you must look better than your new beau's ex and you totally don't.

Last but not least...Hotties...
I feel like now that Zac and Vanessa are done, he has totally matured in my eyes

My True Blood hottie, Ryan Kwanten, looking sexy as ever

Only Ryan Gosling can pull off a velour tux and still look hot

R Patz is not my cup of tea, but he really looks good cleaned up and in a tux

So impressed with Robert going with the gray suit and red accent over a plain old tux

Jeremy Renner was made for the red carpet in this suit

*Sigh* Dear Jake, you could wear a paper bag to the GG's and still make the top 5 best dressed

Honorable Mention...
Helena Bonham Carter is the most consistent ridiculous red carpet actress out there and I love it. She's always wearing a crazy dress, but not going over board like Lady Gaga or Bjork...I don't care what anyone says she looks good for her taste!

Well, that's my list. What do you guys think?
