Jimmy Choo @ H & M

I have been squealing about this since I heard about it a couple months ago! Jimmy Choo has teamed up with retail giant H&M with a less expensive clothing line or clothing line for the people as I call it. Hey, just because you have a tight budget doesn't mean you can't look good or deserve expensive fashion. I think it's great that designers are teaming up with big retailers to give us little people a chance to look like Sarah Jessica Parker. Designers have been doing it for years like Isaac Mizrahi for Target, Vera Wang for Kohl's, Anna Sui for Target, MaxAzria for Walmart, and finally Jimmy Choo for H&M. I can hardly contain myself. Check out the site here. It has the whole line on the site for men and women, shoes and accessories. The most expensive shoe is still only $299. I don't know about you, but I'd pay that for a pair of Jimmy Choo's! The line debuted this weekend in 200 cities around the world, people waited in line for 14 hours in the rain in NYC, and when it was all said and done people were selling items on Ebay for double the price. This is serious shit ladies! Most of the stock is totally gone. The only stores you can get the line from in the US is NYC, LA, San Francisco, & Chicago. I saw an article that said that the line will be restocked today in those stores, but until then that's where you need to go. Nothing is available online as of yet, but I'll keep you posted. Anybody have any information please let me know. It's hard to find pictures of the line since it's so new and the site is in flash so I can't save the pics to post. I found 2 of some shoes that I am totally in love with!

Homemade Turkey Chili

On Monday, AOL had warm fall/winter recipes on their homepage and it made me want to make something new. Cooking has never been something that I did a lot. I'm great at appetizers and desserts, entrees were always Tim's forte. Since we've moved in together I've taken it upon myself to try some recipes and contribute to the cooking side of the household. So far, my choices have panned out. This week I tried a recipe for Turkey Chili, but I took the recipe and ran with it. I kept the recipe exactly the same, took out all the beans, and added things that I like in my chili. You may think it's weird, but I absolutely despise any type of beans so I made bean less chili. My mom used to always make good chili and she would make me a pot of my own without beans. I had never made chili before so I was really anxious about it. I put it all together Monday night, put it in the fridge, and then had Tim put it in the crock pot to cook on low all day yesterday. I gotta tell ya, walking into my house after work yesterday was the best!! I love the smell of home cooking after a long day of work. The chili turned out fantastic, I was so proud of myself. I have the recipe for you below with what I added to it, feel free to use it and put in whatever you want. Enjoy!

1 lb ground turkey
2 cans tomato soup
1 can yellow corn
1 can diced tomatoes and chilies
1 can stewed tomatoes
1/2 red onion
1 can whole potatoes
roasted red peppers diced (to your liking)
1/2 bottle of queen size olives with pimentos
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 tablespoon red pepper flakes
pinch black pepper
pinch cumin
pinch allspice
salt to taste

Countdown to New Moon

I can't wait to see New Moon this week. I have been trying to get tickets to see the advanced screening at Tyson's Corner tonight, but tickets are starting to become outrageously expensive and not worth it. Plus they make you get there at 6:30 for a 9:30 start. What are you supposed to do for 3 hours? And then these people want you to pay $40 for a movie ticket! It's a movie ticket; at max it will cost me $12. We thought about going to see it opening night at midnight, but it will just mess my day up to do that. So we're going to see the last showing at 10:10. Our goal if you must know is to have the least amount of screaming teenagers and adolescents in the theater. I know there's no way to avoid it, but I would like to minimize the amount of them around me because I know they're going to ruin my experience! I can't even believe it's already here, I feel like it was yesterday that I was seeing Twilight. I will definitely have a review for you guys next week and I'm really interested to hear what you guys think as well. Since the premier was Monday, there should be some reviews popping up today. Reviews for Twilight weren't good, but New Moon looks oh so much better so we'll see what the critics have to say about it.

For animal lovers...please help!

Hey guys I need all animal lovers out there. Please pass this on to anyone you know who you think can help. Since I've moved to Virginia, I've found a rescue organization that does some really great stuff. I know a bunch of people that have adopted or fostered from them and have nothing but good things to say about them. The organization is not run from a shelter, all dogs are fostered. Some foster parents can get an entire litter of pups. The best thing about them is that they get a lot of puppies. Since a lot of people want puppies, why not rescue? It's cheaper and you're ultimately saving a life and giving a dog a chance that might not normally have one.

On Sunday, November 8th AFH coordinated with National Mill Dog Rescue to save 111 dogs from a Missouri puppy mill. I think they've found temporary foster homes for all the dogs, but they are in dire need of donations. They estimate that each dog will cost on average of $500. Apparently some of the dogs were in some bad shape and they may even need more than that. Please visit the AFH website to donate, foster, or even help find these dogs a forever home they deserve. Also on the website is video from the rescue and news spots as well. Like I said before please pass this on to anyone you know. Obviously to adopt you need to be in the DC area, but I do know that they will go outside of the area for a good home. You don't need to be local to donate money, dog food, beds, etc. Please feel free to leave me a comment if you need more information or you can email me at erinsworld09@gmail.com.

Must See Movie Mania

Wasn't the summer supposed to be the blockbuster movie season? Well it sure as hell doesn't feel like it! There are so many good movie coming out just this month and I don't think I can quite keep up (nor do I enjoy spending $12 every time I go see a movie). November is looking like a great movie watching month. Here is my list of the movies that are on my list and can't wait until DVD! What are some of yours?

Who knows if I'll get to see it before it comes out on DVD. I can't find anyone to go see it with me! I love being scared and even though I might not sleep for weeks, I'll love every minute of it!

I will probably be dragged to this one kicking and screaming, but I'll regret not seeing it on the big screen. Why don't I want to see this movie? For those of you who don't know me well, the movie says the world will come to end on my 30th birthday. Yep, that's right...December 21, 2012, the end of the Mayan Calendar. FML! Seriously. I'll be on an island drunk somewhere with my favorite boy in the world.

This movie has generated a lot of buzz. After watching the trailer and hearing some good reviews from people who have seen it, I'm totally sold on it. It has been described to me as tragic and triumphant. I hope to see it before it comes out on DVD. I'm sure I'll have to check it with my girlfriends.

I have been looking forward to this movie for soooo long! This movie runs a close second to the movie next on the list. I've been familiar with the Mike Oher store for a while, especially since he was drafted by the NFL this year. I love Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw and I think they'll be great on screen together. I'm sure I'll be leaving the theater with teary eyes! I've added the trailer for you guys because it's so great!

And finally...New Moon. Come one guys, you seriously can not be shocked! I really don't need to say anymore. I'll be seeing it opening night at 12:05 with bells on. I'm coming home from work and taking a nap until 10:30, I'll suck it up with no problems. I want to avoid as many screaming teens as possible. Counting down the days...isn't everybody!

Notables and wait for DVD's...

A Christmas Carol, Pirate Radio, The Box, Where the Wild Things Are & Planet 51

Stay tuned for December movie picks!

Fall Wardrobe

Over the last few months I've been slowly getting my fall wardrobe started. I bought some really great things from Old Navy, Gap, & American Eagle. I love everything I bought and wanted to share it with you. Everything I bought was in store and not online even though I've been trying to do more online shopping because I get cash back with my Ebates account. It was really important to me that I found things that can be versatile so I can wear them at work or when I'm out. All clothes can be found online as well. Let me know what you think! Sorry for the lighting issues, I tried the best I could!

Paranormal Activity

So I sucked it up and saw Paranormal Activity and I have to tell you I was not impressed. I had heard mixed reviews about it. I had friends that were scared out of their mind and then I had friends who said it was stupid. My vote...not scary. I won't say it was a horrible movie because it was good especially for the budget they had. It just wasn't as scary as I had hoped. I felt that if they played it off like the Blair Witch Project did, pretending that it was real footage found, it would have been scarier. Coming out and saying it wasn't real just didn't help. I definitely recommend you go see it, but you might want to wait for it to hit DVD.

The other scary movie that I want to see is The Fourth Kind which I'm pretty sure will scare the living you know what out of me. I'll let you guys know how it is. If anybody has seen it please let me know. Here's the freaky trailer.

I'm really excited to see it, but I have to find someone to go with me because Tim refuses! Let me know your thoughts on either movie!

Halloween

This year Tim and I didn't participate in the Halloween festivities. There was just too much going on. However, while we were in Philly we stopped by our friends 80s party and had a great time. Here are some pics from the party. I hope everyone had a great Halloween!

This pic was taken before we got there, but I had to include one of my friend Lauren as Sheerah

Philly Sports

Last Monday my wonderful friend Christina from Christina's Favorite Things gave Tim & I tickets to the Eagles vs. Redskins MNF game. We had great seats and had so much fun watching the Eagles kick the crap out of the Redskins. The following weekend when we went home to Philly, my dad had a ticket for me for game 4 of the World Series. Even though I had to be at work in DC the next day, I still went. I watched my Phils lose and didn't get home until 5 AM! It was totally worth it because I had a blast with my dad and my uncle, it was just a shame to have been handed a loss by the now World Champion Yankees. Here are some pics from both events.

Even though it was a very tough loss, my Philadelphia Phillies are still champions in my heart. It was a great World Series and I'm already counting down to Spring Training 2010 (Pitchers & Catchers report in 3 and 1/2 months btw!). So congratulations Phillies for being 2009 NL Champs and taking us fans on one hell of a ride! I'm definitely getting an NL Champs shirt for Christmas. Right before the postseason started I ordered a new 08 WS Champs Tee because I shrunk mine and had to give it to my sister. It was a shirt that I saw last year, but could never find. I was so excited when I found it and that it was only $15! I didn't wear it all postseason because I swore it was bad luck. Now I can finally wear it!

Totally going on my Xmas list

Well heelllllooooo again!

Hey kids! How has everyones last couple of weeks been? Mine have been crazy. I have so much to post about it's crazy. While I was MIA I got some new clothes, went to a world series game, watched my team lose the world series, had to get a new hard drive for the laptop, and finally got to see some friends that I hadn't seen in a long time. I know you've missed me, I've missed you guys as well. Stay tuned!
