I have to encourage you all to watch the HBO Original Documentary Shouting Fire: Stories from the Edge of Free Speech premiering Monday, June 29th at 9pm. Freedom of speech is slowly and quietly being attacked in this country. This documentary takes you into the history and foundation of our nations greatest freedom. I urge everyone to get informed!
"Most Americans believe the First Amendment is sacred and inviolate, but not since the 1950s has it been under such attack - from both the right and the left. In a unique collaboration with her father, noted First Amendment attorney Martin Garbus, Oscar® nominee Liz Garbus explores the social and political trends that have shaped America's attitudes about free speech and how they can threaten the very tenets upon which the country was built."
I couldn't find the preview on You Tube, but I did find a clip. If you want to see the preview click here.
I hope you guys tune in to this on Monday night. Please let me know your thoughts about it, I would love to hear from you.
Tim and I have been traveling a lot back and forth to PA lately, and everytime we get a weekend break we really take advantage of it. Usually it consists of us doing a little bit of much needed cleaning, playing with dog, eating junk food, and vegging out in front of the TV. This weekend though we are pumped to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. I was never really into comic book movies or anything like that until I met Tim 6 years ago, I hadn't even wanted to see any of the Harry Potter movies or anything along those lines. Now, I live for those movies; I'm totally addicted. First priority this weekend is to see Transformers, so I added the most recent trailer for you. It came out yesterday, and if anybody I saw it please let me know what you thought. I loved the first one, so I don't think they're going to let us down with this one.
Now, I don't know if I'll get to see it this weekend, but I can't wait to see My Sisters Keeper. I haven't read the book yet, it's on my summer reading list. This is a must see and a must read for anyone who has experienced a loved one getting cancer. Most importantly I haven't heard from any reviews that the movie doesn't live up to the book. So don't be worried about the movie ruining a great read. This movie is going to be a tear jerker, but I'm hoping you'll walk away loving every minute of it. Earlier this year I watched my grandfather succomb to a 2 year battle with cancer. Movies like this are great to help people cope with loss. I encourage everyone to see it whether you have dealt with cancer first hand or not. Here is the trailer, hope you like it.
I have been looking for something to spark my reading interest this summer. I love reading in the summer especially when I'm by the pool or on the beach. My neighbor Jenny got me hooked on the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. She compared the plot to Twilight. The main character Clary gets thrown into a world of demons, vampires, and angels while learning the truth about her own family history. It has forbidden love, science fiction, action, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the books. Unlike Twilight or any other series of books I've read, they all blend into one long story split into three books. There is no resolution or ending in the first two books. It makes you want to pick up the next book as fast as you can. Book One is City of Bones, Book Two is City of Ashes, and Book 3 is City of Glass. I blew through the first two books and can't wait to start the third one! I definitely encourage you to pick up this series and start of your summer reading on the right foot!
I find it so weird that I can find the preview for next weeks episode, but can't find a recap for last weeks...very frustrating. Here is the preview for the next action packed episode of True Blood. I didn't watch it yet don't tell me!!
I know it's been a while since I've posted, I'm so sorry. Tim and I went up to PA for the weekend and it was crazy busy. Plus my parents computer runs soooo slow and I have no patience for it. I promise I've got tons of stuff for everyone, enjoy!
So for some reason I can't find the recap video for last Sunday's episode of True Blood, I can only find a preview for it so it doesn't really show that much. I'll post this for now and I'll keep looking for the actual recap video. It's gotta be around somewhere! I am a terrible fan and didn't get to watch it Sunday so I DVR'd it...and I still haven't watched it! What can I say, it's been a busy week!
I hate Heidi & Spencer Pratt so badly! Ugh, the two of them make me sick. I swore to myself that I would never post about them, but I had to post this interview with Al Roker because it made them look even more ridiculous than normal! After this I swear I will never give them any more attention I swear.
I bought this wallet in pink a couple months ago at DSW and I am so thrilled with it. I am sooo tough on wallets, and this has become the perfect design for me. I don't think I'll ever go back to an ordinary soft wallet (unless it's designer of course). It's great for an every day wallet, and the best part about it is it keeps from hoarding a ton of change that always breaks the zipper! Guilty! I now keep my excess change in a collection bottle, and when it's filled I'll go turn in the change for some cold hard cash. So my little $20 investment will help me save money in the end. DSW has so many colors, patterns, & designs to choose from and they are all under $40. I have also seen these wallets for sale at Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Express, & Forever 21.
Well I finally purchased my first pair of real designer jeans yesterday. I felt like my closet needed a make over. I have too too too many articles of clothing from Abercrombie & Fitch, the downfall from working there. Don't get me wrong, there are a few things that I absolutely love from there. However, most of the poorly made things are getting sent to goodwill. I will argue thought that A&F and HCO have THE best layering tank tops, I will not be getting rid of those. I also own too many pairs of their jeans, some are great jeans but once again I need to weed out the ratty looking ones. It's amazing how much ones style can change in a matter of time. My mom has been bugging me for months to stop wasting my money on these clothes, it took me a bit but I finally listened.
Happy Monday everyone (not really, I loathe Mondays). I hope you guys watched True Blood last night because it was awesome. I feel like I have been waiting forever to see the start of season 2! Of course I had to wait for Tim to get home from volleyball so I didn't even start watching it until almost 11. I was getting antsy (thank heaven for DVR). Incase you missed last night here is the recap, and as soon as I can find the preview for next week I'll post that too.
I'll be doing some catch up today. I was in PA over the weekend and didn't go near a computer.
So I was browsing through Target after picking up my toiletries, and I came across this fantastic pair of shoes. I have been looking for a reasonably priced pair of Gladiator heels for months! I was so excited I almost jumped up and down. Unfortunately, they were out of my size. I'm going to check out a few more stores, but they do have a good deal online that if you spend $50 you get free shipping. The shoes are $26.99, but if you're like me I'm sure you can find something else to get you to $50.
Over the last week I picked up a few essentials to start my summer off on the right foot. Like most of us, I'm on a budget but still want to be fashionable. There is no reason why anyone can't look great and not break the bank. One store I've found that has super cute clothes and a low price tag is Garage. The material isn't cheap and is not a hastle to wash either. Here are a couple of things I picked up from the store.
The New Moon trailer premiered at last weekends MTV Movie Awards and I wanted to post it here. I am a HUGE fan of the book series, but was not a fan of the movie. Of course I saw it in the theaters and I do own it on DVD because I feel as a true fan I should have it. Anyway, I have been really excited about New Moon because I was hoping the new director would do a better job than the previous one. Don't even get me started on her!
This trailer gave me mixed feelings. Does anyone think that the CGI wolf needed to be rougher looking? I feel like there should have been more of an Underworld Lycens kind of look to it. This wolf looks too cute and cuddly. What do you think?
If you haven't seen it yet, you have to go see the Hangover this weekend! It was the funniest movie I have seen in a long time...seriously! You'll find yourself quoting the movie all week long.
Photos of Britney Spears have recently appeared on the internet of her filming her video "Gimme More" a couple years ago topless. Of course in true Britney fashion, she's got pasties on so it's ok!! Apparently these photos were taken during the porno version of her video. I still love her, I don't care! Check out the pics from tmz and the uncensored video here.
I am a huge fan of True Blood on HBO and I am so excited for the season 2 premier this Sunday, June 14th! Incase you've been living under a rock, here are two previews featured on HBO right now! Enjoy!
Ok everyone, after over a week of messing with this thing (and trust me, I'm still not happy) I'm ready to start actually blogging! So I'm just going to do what I set out to do in the first place and let everything else come with time!
If anyone knows of any good websites that have 3 column templates please let me know. I've been looking for one and I haven't been able to completely call my own. Remember...I love feedback, and especially now I'm really gonna love help from the experienced bloggers out there. Thanks!
Welcome guys! Thanks for stopping by. Bear with me while I work on the page and add everything I want to it. I hope you all enjoy...and I love love love feedback! Talk to you soon!
